Following My Singing Soul.

Over the last couple of days I have fallen in LOVE with writing on my work.  It's funny because I always really shied away from having words on my art.  I think I was trying to avoid being like many of the other mixed media artists out there who put in inspirational quotes.  I wanted to have impact but always felt it was a little too on the nose for me. But this...

I love!!!  It absolutely sings to me and I can't stop myself from doing it on all the things I have been creating lately.  I have also used pigma micron pens, paint markers and sakura gelli pens on poster board, canvas and cardstock.  All have been exciting and wonderful, but the above two are so far my favourite.

I like too that I am getting out the thoughts in that moment.  It's like what I understand bullet journaling to be about.  Quick, in the moment notes.  Stunning!

Something else I am realizing as I go.  "Stop pushing through process that doesn't feel good."  I say feel but in general if the process of what you are doing is exhausting, boring, or forced let it go and do it in a way that makes you feel good.  Do it in a way that energizes you, sings to you.  It's your process, it shouldn't drain you of your joy.
